New Looks - Vintage!

When editing photos it sometimes takes the fun out of editing when you do the same thing over and over again. So for me I try to find different things to do...lately I have found this vintage look....check it out and let me know what you think...

Color!!

Do you ever ask why we are always gravitate to striking color? :o) When looking at pictures I often compare the colors in the picture to actual colors and always think....'So Pretty' ...I think our eyes are trained to enjoy the beauty of color.

Washington DC

Whenever we go on vacation we always take the 'common' pictures. For instance for those who have either gone to Washington DC or have looked at pictures of the capitol in a book... everyone's picture looks the same. That was a challenge to me...to take the same picture that everyone else has taken and to make it my own through the composition of the photo.

The picture  above is of the American Flag (Duh! lol) This picture was fun to take as the flag whipped in the wind... I felt that I had to take this picture because after all we were at the capital and it just wouldnt be right if  I did not :o)!

The picture to the right is familiar isn't it? I really like the way this one turned out because I sorta expected it to be boring and OK because there were so many people walking that day. I felt that this shot was the same shot tons of other tourists took. The beauty of this picture came about in making it black and white which I believe accentuated the lines in the photo.

To the left is another familiar picture right? The Capitol. How many times have we seen this picture?? I decided to be a little different and cut the rest of the capitol building out and foucs on the beauty of the top of the capitol. What do you think??

Overall....Did I succeed in making the pictures my own???Regardless I had a GREAT time running around and taking pictures. i cant wait to go back and take a few night shots.

'What do I take a picture of?

I often look in magazines and pictures on walls and think..'Wow what a pretty picture'. Now that I have started photography I try to take those pictures. The one thing I have noticed when just out and about is...'What do I take a picture of?' I often draw a big blank in my mind. This one question has drove me to try out landscape and urbanscape photography.... Tell me what you think! :o)

A Little Black and White

The one thing that I have found that I like photographing is flowers...I guess because I can take my time and they will not go anywhere! lol... In addition I have a love for black and white photography.
